Open Recovery!

I love web programming! I get engrossed in web programming till a point it starts to become somehow a need for me to include it in my own blog and sites. For today’s assignment in school, we were given, web programming!!

I came home at around 2pm, and decided to rest a while because I had a bad flu, and believe me, no one knows a bad flu like I do. I’ll not elaborate on the flu issue for now, maybe some other days.

After resting, I started on my assignment given, and then I realised that xampp webserver is giving me some problems, which results in me not able to view my aspx files. My Windows XP cd is with GX and yes I’m alright with it because I’m not going to go so far to get back a disc. He also forgot about the meeting we are supposed to have to pass me back my disc. Good job.

Why do I need the disc you might ask. I need it to install a Windows Component, the IIS (Internet Information Service), hope that I spelt it correctly. Its a built in webserver which I need so I can view my web programming files. He didn’t return it to me so I had to look for some other 3rd party webserver which didn’t work out well. Here comes the assed part.

While uninstalling the 3rd party webserver, the auto uninstall deleted my Project files, my Assignments, my References examples. I went totally bonkers. It took me 2 hrs or so to recover the shit files using other tools, and imagine me having to go through restoring 20-30 files 1 by 1 through a list of 10,000 other files. I had to look for another webserver too which took up ages of my time. Couldn’t say I wasn’t fed up. I even asked myself why am I doing all this when I can have my XP cd and install the IIS in just 5mins and ready to go? Because GX forgot about the meeting we were supposed to have. I even reminded him like 4 times the night before. Anyway everything’s fine now so I’ll save my energy on better things.

Gonna go finish up some pages in the programming before I go to sleep. Blasted webservers.
