Photomedia Lesson

Today is a bad start of my day. I’ll elaborate more when I get home tonight.
Instead I turned to finish up the sketch that I never came to complete.
Its done, fairly well for a first timer in Drawing.
It felt really great to vent the emotions on the drawing, being able to express how I feel.
I feel a lot calmer after sketching things out.
1 more reason to fall in love with drawing.
I was planning to go to the IT Helpdesk to install my Adobe CS3 Design Suite, but I woke up late and tired thanks to the unreasonable job I’m having. I am so going to quit that job seriously. Its just too much for me to take between school and work. Don’t tell me “time is always enough, its just how we manage” because Biomedical sciences is just not the same as multimedia and animations.
I reached school at 10.30am, with the lesson starting at 11am. There was no one around. Half of them are probably still installing their software at the IT Helpdesk. At around 11am, a lecturer came and open up the room, and soon 3 more people arrived.
When its around 11.10 and no one is coming in, we realized that everyone, not just half the class, is at the IT Helpdesk. The lesson was cancelled and postponed to next week, and we were asked to join our class at the Helpdesk.
It was kind of a wasted trip because due to the fact that everyone including people from other classes are installing softwares through the network, the installation process came to halt a rather few times.
After spending near 2 hours+ and getting nowhere, I took my Mac and decided to go back on Monday again. Next we headed to the Art Studio for our Drawing Fundamentals.
It was fun. We finally had our first real lesson kind of lesson. We took our stands and chairs, clipped our paper to the drawing board, and set up our positions around the 2 objects. We were required to draw a sphere, cylinder lying on a square cube. We had to learn new pencil holding gestures and measuring technic.
After drawing and nearing the end of the lesson, we had to put the drawings in the front and pick out 3 nicest drawing. I realized my drawing lack boldness and suck haha. I’ve decided to go get a sketchbook tml and start to draw 2 items a day to improve my drawing.
I fell asleep on the bus again. I am so going to quit work. Not going to be persuaded by people at work again. They simply don’t understand how and what I am going through. If they knew, they probably wouldnt make those irresponsible comments like asking me to skip CCA.

Bigger photos are in my thumbdrive. These are thumbnails in the iWeb project. Used them anyway.

Which way is this figure turning? Clockwise or anti-clockwise? Decide on your answer before you read on.

Today was somehow the day which I kind of enjoyed myself. Probably due to the fact that we didn’t have to move around listening to talks and doing stuff that are time wasting. Our whole day was spent on the Mini Project 2. Mobile Video Production.
Our group, Group 8 decided to make some changes to the script thankfully, because I myself also felt that the script was lacking some stuff. It turned out really well though the idea contributed by everyone.
It was awkward sitting there doing nothing. I bet that’s how the rest were feeling at that point of time. Talked to Geok Ying, and realized that she was actually a good partner to talk to. Probably I’ll be seeing her again in Photography club if the club even manages to read my email.
Looks can really be deceiving, and no I don’t know how to play any electrical instruments LOL. She said I look like I’m the sort who play stuff like that hahaha.
I’m looking guilty at my Acoustic Guitar beside me right now. I must really remember to practice again more often.
At the end of the day, our mobile video turned out quite well, most probably due to the fact that everyone contributed, and the Year 3 Seniors too. They were so actively helping us. No comments about the Year 2 “Seniors”.
After the screening of 20 video productions, we, the first class, had the honor of putting our palm print outside the wall at the DOT first. Red palm prints with our name at the side. Washing off the paint on the hands took some time too.
Tomorrow will be already Friday. Orientation week is finally coming to an end. But the thought of the variety show next Friday is still looming around.
Not to mention seriously that the topic that we picked for IS, is now coming back to punish me for underestimating it. I can’t find a single specific thing about it. I’m now trying my best to piece things together. I should try my best not to worry about it. Difficult topic then got kick ok. I’m sure saying that will make things alot better.
I’m starting to realize that there’s alot of fun people in my class. Excluding some I still don’t know.
This whole week is Orientation week and that means awaiting me was a compulsory number of days to attend. Maybe its me, or maybe I’m no longer used to such activities, or its just that I can’t wait to get started, I’m not really into it.
Its not that I don’t want to take part actively, but seriously, a whole week dedicated to Orientation is just not what I have in mind. Apparently that is not just me having that line of thought.
Be it the purpose is for bonding or for building teamwork, I don’t think that there’s a need for a whole week of bonding stuff. I’m sure in the next 3 years, there’ll be lots of bonding chances.
Or its just that I haven’t found my clique yet.
Moving on to other stuff, today was the macbook preparation day, and we had to carry our laptop to school for 1 hour just to set up it and it was to be chugged around for the rest of the day, including into the sports stadium for the telematch.
Good planning. I’m totally supportive of it. Not.
Went for photoshoot at Botanic Garden today. Tinkle around with Nani’s camera most of the time, but had tries on Ju’s Nikon D60. I would say it was a really fun camera to play around with. Especially in the cool house. If you were trekking around on a humid day and came across an air conditioned enclosed area, with fresh air inside, I bet you wouldn’t want to leave it too.
I’ll probably be trying out some HDR processing on some raws and editing some others to make them look more presentable. Maybe in the future we’ll be going for photo shoots at the Zoo.
I’ll try to post the photos once I get them ready.
Trying to get a proper working version of Maya working. Disadvantage of owning a MBP, is that programs are often very hard to find in alternative ways. Will be trying my best though to get it. Hopefully in the next few days.
Rereading this post makes me realized how bad my english can get. Fatigue disallow any edits on this. Don’t mind the errors in this post, its already midnight.
The induction program fell on friday. I didn’t expect much. Probably meet the class, and going through the Ice Breaking games.
Met my class. Me and Jonathan are in the same class. Good for us then.
Although no matter how much I harp on having fun during my poly life, but seriously I’m going to work my best through the modules. I’ve got what I want and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
Looking at my class, It’ll probably be a enthu one. But I think its just time I act my age. Sounds weird eh.
I don’t know what to expect from my class, or what my class expects of me.
To see how it goes, is to decide how to be myself.
Monday is still Orientation week. I can’t wait for real lesson to start. I know, It feels weird to be excited over probably nights of burning midnight oil and rushing for what seems to be like endless projects dateline.
At least I’m doing something I like. It makes one feel so alive.
