Lie or not to lie?

I’m stuck at home finishing up my PP1, and I’ve lost count of the countless times I’ve redid the design.

It was only then when my Dreamweaver CS4 trial expired, and I checked the computer calender, and it was then I realized it was already 21st.

21st, June. Seeing the date made me remember that it was drey’s birthday. I didn’t realized that it was 21st! I sent my birthday wishes over and I’m sorry that it was so late. I am seriously not used to keeping tabs on dates, and instead I only keep tabs on days like Monday, Tuesday so on and so forth.

She asked me whether I forgot. I had 2 choices. I could tell her the truth of not realizing the date, or I could lie and look honestly sorry for forgetting her birthday. I told her the truth and expectedly, she didn’t take to it. I felt bad, and I’m really sorry, but I really didn’t forget the date, I just didn’t take to keeping tabs on the calender. That does not justify me being right though. I’m still sorry.

Now, I sit here wondering, whether I should have lied about it and just say that I forgot.
