War of the Disk – Day 2 Part 2

Posted by: zixiangx on: August 13, 2008

When we last left off the story, the screen was gray and the disc was churning once again. Then all of a sudden, the laptop came to live with the “HELLO, “NI HAO” introduction of every Mac OSX installation. I have managed to install the Mac OSX on the second partition!

The music from the introduction had never sounded so clear and crisp. It was a totally enlightening scene!

I quickly booted into the main screen and another alert message came up. “The disk “Macintosh HD” has errors and its features will be limited to protect it.” Something of that sort, I couldn’t remember the full thing.

I was afraid that because of that security lock, DiskWarrior couldn’t scan it. I plugged in my thumbdrive, loaded up DiskWarrior and clicked run. It started doing its job. It skipped past so fast.

Finally, after just 5 minutes of alien annihilation, DiskWarrior reports me to that the Disk is fixed! Could I be sure? I restarted the machine and it went to the Apple Logo again, with the spinning gear at the bottom. Spin Spin Spin…

It turned gray.

And it turned into my Wallpaper.

I am finally back, up and running!

I cleared away stuff to make space, arrange my Mac and did all I could to give it breathing space.

To top that off,

This entire post was written on my Mac. =).
