I woke up early, to prepare for war against the mysterious alien invasion to my Macbook Pro’s Hard disk. Of course there was another reason I woke up early. I had to drop by Raffles Place to collect my stuff and sign the contract for the 1 week temporary job that I was taking up.
I had arranged with Jon, for him to bring his laptop so I can allow the burning of diagnostic tools onto DVDs so I can run more test on my Macbook Pro.
After the contract signing which was an eye opener to the even more deeper CBD area in singapore, and the security involved in reaching the offices, we headed to Marina to have our lunch.
After lunch, all I was thinking was how to revive the Macbook Pro. I could not bear to see it spluttered like this anymore, to shut down on me when it doesn’t want to. I started working on Jon’s laptop, burning different tools to try on my MBP, and a few other methods.
To my slight surprise, none of the calculations I made worked. It was a strategic error, an error that I have overlooked. I learned more new things from the mistake, but things that are not helping the war against the failing hard disk.
We seperated at the MRT station, and I went home feeling so low. I kept thinking the files that I will lose, and how I am never going to recover them. I have always had a panic mode when it comes to my hardware and softwares. Right now, I am in the panic mode.
Feeling so low, I commanded the final alert level. “Red Alert Act 3″ to all personnel in charge. Now, I sat and thought about what I could do. It seemed so bleak.
Goodbye hard disk.
Goodbye 6 months of unsaved school progress.
Goodbye everything.

NO! I set the self destruction button to midnight, where it was the “Format all” decision to get rid of the alien invasion. That would for sure kill any alien life form present, but it would cost my information.
I suddenly had an idea that never occurred to me, probably due to the panic block.
I could install Mac OSX onto my windows in my MBP, and then access that 2nd Mac OSX system and run DiskWarrior to fix the first system!
Yes, it could work.
Yes, I’m sure it will.
I rushed and gave the final command for an all out attack on the life form. We had to destroy our secondary base, but it was alright, I have long wanted to clear away the secondary base since the past.
I formatted the windows partition, and slot the Mac OSX CD in. It ran, it churned and it stopped.
Error! What the?!
I took out the disc and wiped it cleanly before putting it back. Don’t tell me this can’t work, this idea for sure will work! But don’t tell me the disc can’t operate now!
I slot the disc in and waited for verification beside the MBP.
The operation started. The doctors are now working on it. Can it beat the self destruction timer that I have set?!
I waited,
and waited,
and waited somemore,
and lastly,
I fell asleep.
I woke up some time later, and I was shocked, I quickly looked at the screen and saw that it was dark gray, like it was loading something. What could it be?! What exactly could happen. I was so worried.. Did the operation go successful?
